Training Institutes:

Dr. Jay Jorge received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 2005 before joining the military as a Navy Corpsman for six years. After his service, Dr. Jorge received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Sint Eustatius in the Netherlands. He then competed a general surgery residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital, Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. In 2018, Dr. Jorge graduated from a fellowship in bariatric and robotic surgery from the University of South Florida School of Medicine at Tampa General Hospital.

Work Experience:

After graduating college, Dr. Jorge worked as an adjunct clinical faculty member at Michigan State University Department of General Surgery. In 2018, he began working as a full-time bariatric surgeon. Dr. Jorge joined New Hope Surgical, a subsidiary of Tiesenga Surgical Associates, in 2018 where he sees patients in need of bariatric and general surgery.
